Mike is our Head Coach who has been with Rosski since the beginning. He is a hugely experienced fully qualified ski instructor. He has many years of working with young people with learning difficulties and enabling them to ski. He is qualified to BASI Alpine Level 2 and Adaptive Skiing Level 2.
His role is to co-ordinate our training sessions and to teach skiers of all abilities. He finds his work with Rosski fulfilling, exciting and rewarding.
Mike, who has been skiing for 41 years, was on the Welsh Alpine Race Team for 7 years, has previously been both the Welsh National Coach and Head Coach for the British Adaptive (Disabled) Ski Team for 2 years
Mike leads our Ski Training sessions on a Saturday and says is in his own words “Rosski will take people of all abilities and empower them to achieve their skiing goals”.
John has been skiing for over 20 years. He learnt to Ski at Ski Rossendale and has since been fortunate to ski in Austria, France, Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Poland and Canada.
John took his first ski instructor exam over 10 years ago and has since helped get many people on the piste.
John enjoys the great outdoors and keeping fit. He is a qualified fitness instructor/ PT and also runs inclusive fitness sessions.
John has been working with individuals with special educational needs for numerous years and is keen to share his passion for skiing with everyone so that they to can experience the thrill.
Nicky (who really likes to be called Vicky!) is a volunteer coach.
Alison de Vial
Alison is Chair of Rossendale Special Ski Club. She is passionate about the Club and the opportunities it brings to young people. Alison will be found every Saturday at Ski Rossendale organising the Club but as importantly talking with friends that she has made through the club and drinking tea!
She is clear that the club is there for all ski abilities-from the most advanced to newest and least confident skier. At the Race Days (both ours and around the country) you will hear her before seeing her-a very vocal supporter of all Rossendale Skiers!
Carmel has been Vice-Chair of Rossendale Special Ski Club for the last 5 years. She is also passionate about the Club and the enjoyment and fulfilment it brings to young people.
Carmel describes Rosski as brilliant, fabulous and fantastic. Carmel, a dedicated non –skier supporter of the club, helps run the Saturday sessions, welcoming skiers and importantly collecting fees due.
Jenni has 30+ years of skiing experience. She has organised races in the North West for schools and the Winter Race Leagues. She is Assistant Race Secretary for Pendle National Races.
Jenni who finds Rosski inspirational and enjoyable has been with Rosski since the beginning.
For the club she leads on the organisation for the North West Special Alpine Ski Race that Rosski host and also the entries of our skiers to other races across country.
